Cushion Cover Designs

The earliest cushions could be found in the middle ages as old inventories of the great palaces or mansions. These cushions were very large and were usually covered with leather. They were used by feudal lords to sit on. Cushions were a sign of their designation. In Spain, court cushions were used as a sign of prestige. It was the same in France… to kneel behind the King on a cushion in church was considered prestigious.

Today, cushions may not be considered a sign of status, but they have not lost their importance in our lives. Cushion covers can be made of various fabrics, from rich brocades to humble Hessian. They can be embroidered or printed. Depending on the target market, cushion covers can have a variety of diverse designs.
