Brooches have been worn for hundreds of years. Initially brooches were used to fasten clothing. However, today they are worn for the merely pleasure of wearing them. Some people even collect different kinds of brooches… big and small and from across the globe.

Brooches can adorn the lapel of a winter coat or worn with single color dresses or shirts. So their design should be something that catches the eye and something that can give a stylish look to any dress. Hence, brooches are usually fairly elaborate and bright. The expensive brooches can be made of gold, sterling silver or platinum and may be embedded with gemstones, diamonds or cubic zirconia. Some of the brooches have no stones at all, but are designed to look unique.
